Chaparral Ice

Elementor #7948

Not ready to hang up the skates for the spring? Hockey Town Training at Chaparral Ice is for you! This 9-week program will have players stay in shape and play hockey in a fun, challenging and educational environment for spring. Sessions will start the week of March 20, and continue through May 20th. Players are encouraged to join our skills practices, scrimmages, or both!

Skills: Coachlead skills, drills, and small-area games focusing on edge work, power stride, stickhandling, passing, and shooting with a purpose. We believe hockey isn’t only perfected at the ice rink, so we will include fun but skilled work-at-home exercises to help the players continue to grow in the game of hockey. Each player in this group will receive a practice jersey.

Scrimmages: Learn the game through team playscrimmages with a learning twist. The coach on the ice will occasionally pause the game, using it as a teaching moment. This will help newer players better understand the flow of the game, positioning for puck and player support, breakouts, power plays, penalties, and neutral zone tactics. Teams will be re-drafted as needed for parity. We ask that players bring a dark and white jersey to scrimmages (ask us about buying our Hockey Town jerseys!).
